The Bonati Spine Institute is thrilled to announce the opening of its new ambulatory surgical center in Nevada. This facility, located on 10195 West Twain Avenue, will have its grand-opening on January 12th, 2017.
Alfred O. Bonati, M.D., the founder of the Bonati Spine Institute, created and developed advanced surgical techniques and instrumentation to treat back, neck and joint problems including bulging and herniated discs, spinal stenosis, degenerative disc disease, sciatica, pinched nerves, etc. Dr. Bonati advanced the field of spinal surgery through the patented Bonati Spine Procedures. These precise, targeted procedures are exclusive to the Bonati Spine Institute. These techniques, in the hands of their experienced surgeons, produce excellent results and a patient satisfaction rate of 98.75%. Over the last 32 years, these procedures have been perfected, virtually eliminating the need for invasive open spine surgery, like spinal fusions, as well as the less effective, commonly phrased, “minimally invasive” surgeries.
“The Bonati Spine Institute placed one of the best surgical assets and a great surgeon, Dr. John Grossmith, at our Las Vegas facility. He will be the Medical Director and will supervise the excellent patient care that the Institute is proud to have,” said Dr. Bonati. Dr. Grossmith is the former Chairman of Neurosciences at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, CA, and Principle Investigator for the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center. His civilian experience includes service as an Emergency Department Physician at Henry Ford Hospital and as Staff Neurosurgeon at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, IN. He is certified by The American Board of Neurological Surgery and has been with The Bonati Spine Institute for nine years.
The Bonati Spine Procedures are performed through a small incision, which allows for less scarring and faster recovery. They are gentle enough to be performed on an outpatient basis without the need for a hospital stay. They utilize Conscious IV sedation and local anesthesia, which maintain patient comfort and the ability to communicate with the surgeon as the source of the pain is alleviated. Because they do not require general anesthesia, with its associated risks, they may be performed on a wider range of patients. Patients that undergo the Bonati Spine Procedures can return to work and resume normal activities within days.
The Bonati Spine Institute holds multiple U.S. patents on its instrumentation and techniques. It has performed more than 55,000 procedures, with 65% of those patients having previously undergone failed surgeries at other facilities. The collaborative efforts of Dr. Bonati and the Laser Developer resulted in a research and development program. This led to The Institute being the first to gain FDA approval for the use of a laser in spine surgery.
In recent years, there has been a large increase in the number of spinal fusions performed to treat many conditions, which may easily be treated by less invasive methods. The Bonati Spine Procedures are a safe and effective alternative to spinal fusions and avoid the risks and complications that are associated with fusions, while preserving the natural movement of the spine.
Dr. Bonati is excited and eager to expand The Bonati Spine Institute to a more convenient location for potential patients on the west coast. He is also looking forward to playing a strategic role in helping develop the Las Vegas medical tourism initiative.
