At last night’s fourth annual “Inspired Excellence in Healthcare Awards” banquet, Las Vegas HEALS (Health, Education, Advocacy and Leadership of Southern Nevada) honored six local physicians for their outstanding contributions to the community as Las Vegas continues to position itself as a world-class destination for healthcare services.
Inspired by the pioneer exploits of Dr. Royce W. Martin, Las Vegas’ first chief surgeon circa 1905, the award ceremony recognized six physicians who ignite and inspire continued possibilities for healthcare excellence:
Joseph Adashek, MD, FACOG – Desert Perinatal Associates
Rutu Ezhuthachan, MD – United Healthcare
Mitchell Forman, DO, FACOI, FACP, FACR – Touro University
Oscar B. Goodman, Jr., MD, PhD – Comprehensive Cancer Centers of Nevada & Roseman University of Health Sciences
David Steinberg, MD, FACR, FACNM – Steinberg Diagnostic Medical Imaging
Dylan Wint, MD – Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health
“This year’s class continues to exemplify high quality and innovative care that our healthcare community provides in Southern Nevada,” said Ann Lynch, president of Las Vegas HEALS. “Each year’s class demonstrates a large cross section of physicians who elevate the care and education provided in our community.”
Past recipients have included doctors Howard Baron, Joel Bower, Jim Christensen, Michael Ciccolo, Jeffrey Cummings, Senator Joseph Hardy, Flip Homansky, Florence Jameson, Yevgeniy Khavkin, J.D. McCourt, Russell Nevins, Benjamin Rodriguez, Steven Thomas, and Nicholas Vogelzang.
Las Vegas HEALS’ Chief Executive Officer Doug Geinzer said, “Las Vegas is home to numerous top physicians who provide world-class care. Last night, we celebrated six doctors who continue to raise the level and inspire the delivery of high quality healthcare. A particular highlight of the event was a personal story shared by Dr. Joey Adashek about compassion and caring. ”
The 4th annual gala took place on Thursday, October 29. at the Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas. Florence “Flo” Rogers, President and CEO of Nevada Public Radio, served as mistress of ceremonies.
