WHAT: Coinciding with National Bike Month and to bring a new way for

individuals and groups to fundraise for Red Nose Day, Walgreens and

PeopleForBikes are powering the first Ride On For Red Nose Day

Challenge and hosting a fundraising bike ride from Santa Barbara to Las

Vegas. The riders conclude their 400-mile journey at a special rider rally

in front of the Walgreens store by MGM.

WHO: Professional cyclists and experienced riders are pedaling together to

raise awareness and tens of thousands of dollars for this important

charity, which helps combat child poverty by funding programs that keep

kids safe, healthy and educated.

WHEN: Wednesday, May 3, 2017 – 5:30PM

Culmination celebration as cyclists complete their 400-mile journey.

Elected officials, local leaders, Walgreens executives and

PeopleForBikes leaders, representatives from Las Vegas food bank

Three Square, a Children’s Health Fund doctor, and professional cyclists

will be in attendance. Brief remarks at 5:45 PM. Photo and interview

opportunities available.

DETAILS: Red Nose Day launched in the U.S. in 2015 with a mission to raise

money and awareness to end child poverty and has raised more than $60

million to date for the cause. Money raised for the campaign goes to the

Red Nose Day Fund, which supports programs that keep children in need

safe, healthy and educated. Red Nose Day Fund grant recipient

organizations in Las Vegas include Feeding America’s Three Square

Food Bank. Walgreens is the exclusive retailer of the Red Nose. Last

year, four Walgreens stores in Las Vegas were the top fundraisers of the

8,000-plus stores participating in the Red Nose Day campaign.
